School Ethos/Motto

School Information

''Ó gach duine a dhícheall.- From each person their best.''

School Ethos:
‘We seek to foster the intellectual, spiritual and personal development of all students within a supportive yet challenging environment. The school respects cultural diversity and strives to promote equality and to provide an environment where all have the freedom and opportunity to achieve their full potential.’

Our Motto/Our Creed:
Up until 2008 there was no motto associated with the school. In a school-wide competition involving pupils, parents and teachers there were many impressive suggestions but only one winner. ''Ó gach duine a dhícheall- From each person their best.'' is fitting for Saint Patrick's B.N.S. for many reasons. Our school community is made up of many different groups of people working together to achieve one common goal. This is to give the most important people in our family, our boys, the very best of educational opportunity. We feel that the motto highlights our expectations of our pupils with regards to all aspects of their education. It also symbolises the Trojan work that is continuosly put into the school by all those who are part of the Saint Patrick's Family. The winning entry was submitted by pupil Ethan Keane.

"I thought of school, the teachers, the children and all of them trying their best. I came up with sentences and my favourite one was FROM EACH HIS BEST. I had to write this because there was a compettion for a motto and whoever won would get a voucher for Smyths Toystore. I won and got the voucher and spent it." - Ethan Keane
