School Curriculum

St. Patrick's B.N.S. is a Roman Catholic School under the patronage of Very Rev. John Buckley, bishop of Cork and Ross. The Catholic ethos and Christian values permeate the school day.
The school, follows the Alive-O Programme of Religious Instruction for Catholic primary schools.

Children are prepared for the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist in second class. They make their First Confession and First Holy Communion. Children in sixth class are prepared for and recieve the Sacrament of Confirmation. This preparation is done in close cooperation with home and parish. Parents/ Guardians are seen as the most important people in passing on our Faith and the school supports them in this important task.

We welcome other pupils who respect the Roman Catholic ethos of our school. While Catholic education and the ethos of the school permeates the day, children of other faiths or none, where requewst is made in writing, will be excused from attendance at formal religious instruction classes and specifically Catholic liturgies. As far as is possible, in consultation with parents, suitable alternative arrangements will be made in order to facilitate this.
